OUR VALUES
At Volunteer youth center Arodes AsteriA we value inclusion, lifelong learning, and sustainability. We stay neutral on religion and politics and support efforts to reconnect with people and nature everywhere. We built our hostel using secondhand and re-used materials to be eco-friendly and raising the theme of overconsumtion.

In less than 8 months volunteers made by hands this cozy and sustainable hostel from second-use material mostly, renovating old abandoned facilities in Pano Arodes, giving them second life and supporting local community.
Volunteer youth eco-hostel AsteriA is created and lrun by volunteer team from Latvia and other Europe countries.
It is a basecamp for travellers and social projects in village Pano Arodes. Volunteering Youth center is helping to community of the village, starting from cleaning roads from waste to involving locals in cultural exchange.
Hostel provides: comfortable bunk-beds, linen and blankets, conditioning, toilets and showers, WI-FI, mini-kitchen, garden and rest zone, parking place.
Staying: from 17 EUR per person per night for individuals, For groups - special individual offers.

RENOVATED HOUSE ARODES ASTERIA 3D HOUSE
For a groups and projects we offer also accomodation in traditional Cypriot houses, renovated by our volunteer team.
Houses have all facilities, single beds or bunk beds, WI-FI, private kitchens and bathrooms, made in cozy traditional atmosphere.
Each house can accomodate 4-6 person.
Staying: from 25 EUR per person per night for individuals, For groups - special individual offers.
HOUSES IN THE VILLAGE
Additionally for a groups and projects we offer accomodation in rented traditional private Cypriot houses
Houses have all facilities, single beds or double beds, WI-FI, private kitchens and bathrooms, made in cozy traditional atmosphere.
Each house can accomodate 4-6 person.
Staying: from 120 EUR per house per night for individuals, For groups - special individual offers.
MEALS
Traditional Cypriot cuisine: fresh and tasty!
Enjoy traditional Cyprus hospitality and great fresh grilled, ecologically clean and tasty food!
For a groups we provide hot and cold meals - catering from local taverns, with traditional Cypriot food, such as meze, mousaka, tzatziki, keftedes etc
We provide breakfasts and coffee breaks on the spot.
Also access to kitchen is provided, so participants are able to cook by themselves using local fresh and ecologically clean products.
The traditional Cypriot breakfast is a great start to the day. It’s a healthy balance of protein, vegetables and carbs with a coffee that will wake up anyone.
The meal may vary, depending on where you get it, but will contain most, if not all, of the following:

In the hall of old school of Pano Arodes we offer great space for different kind of activites:

- joga and other mental health activities
A space is equipped with air condition, projector, screen, chairs, flipcharts.
35 joga mats and table tenniss are also available.
Space has a smal kitchen with a teapot, microwave and is equpped for coffee breaks inside and outside.
Private WC are available, including for disabled person.

PLACES TO SEE NEAR BY
AVAKAS GORGE
There one meets a vastness of fauna and flora such as pistachia, oleander, porcupines, hares, lizards and frogs. The ending part of the gorge is in the stream with the water never running dry throughout the year.
AGIOS AGAPITIKOS CHURCH
In the village of Pano Arodes is the only church in the world dedicated to Saint Kalandion. It is the central church of the village and was built in the 18th AD. century.
MUSEUM OF TEMPLAR AGES
Get back in time in our Museum of Templar Ages, explore Knight Orders in Medieval Europe through exhibits, interactive archery, and photo shoots in historical costumes. Explore artifacts and captivating stories that highlight the Templars' legendary honor, bravery, and brotherhood.
AKAMAS GEOLOGY AND PALEONTOLOGY INFORMTION CENTRE
The main objective of the Center is to inform visitors about the various rocks and fossils, the genesis of the island of Cyprus, the seismological characteristics of the area, the geomorphology of Akamas, the mines/quarries/galleys that operated at times, and others.
ASTRO PARK
Place to see amazing sunsets and feel the beauty of Cyprus nature. The creation of an Astropark, as well as a walking route that will start from the settlements of Pano and Kato Arodes to the Avaka gorge, was the subject of the International Competition
AKIS COFFEE SHOP
This Arodes Cafe in the square is located behind the church of Agios Kalandionas. It is a stone-built inviting space, with a unique picturesque courtyard and several trees. The best place to try traditional Cypriot coffee.
